Blizzard’s open-world survival game has been revealed months later. The first images of Project Odyssey, which was canceled by the company, have leaked online. What was the promise of the ambitious game that was never finished despite long-standing development efforts?

Canceled earlier this year, Project Odyssey was supposed to be Blizzard’s entry into survival games. Leaked photos show gameplay that fits right into the survival genre. The photos show your character’s inventory of items, resources and equipment.

It’s also possible to track stats like health, hunger and fatigue on the status screens. Customization options include character models and gear loadouts. On the other hand, the game’s cartoonish graphics are similar to Palworld.

Qualcomm wants to buy most of Intel!

Qualcomm allegedly wants to buy Intel's chip design division. So what does Intel think about this?

While the leaked footage doesn’t reflect the gameplay, it’s clear that Blizzard is taking inspiration from games like Fable Legends and Everwild. The project was also planned to be released for PC and console.

We also know that Blizzard has hired Dan Hay, a former Far Cry team manager, for this project. Of course, it is sad for the players that the project was canceled after the cost spent to develop the basic technologies of the project.

Among the main reasons for the game’s cancellation is the restructuring within the company. In line with the decision taken by Microsoft, there was a major layoff in the Activision-Blizzard team. Project Odyssey is also thought to have been in development since 2017.
